Posted by Kristy Rhea on 15 December 2009 11:01 AM
Have you ever need to send an email to a group of people or to a distribution list but want it to look more personal and that it only went to them?  Follow the instructions below to Blind Copy or BCC a group.

  • Select yourself in the TO: line.
  • Click on the CC: button under the TO line.  The Address Book will show.
  • If you are sending to a distribution list you have created:
    • Click the arrow for the dropdown box under Address Book to the right.
    • Choose Contacts
    • Select the distribution list you wish to sent to
    • Click on the BCC button to add the this list to be blind copied on the email.

  • If you are sending to Bridgewater Faculty or Staff
    • Choose each person you wish to email from the Address list
    • Click on the BCC button to add them to be blind copied on the email
  • If you are sending to someone that is neither a BC Fac/Staff member or in your contacts
    • Type the email in the BCC area to add them to be blind copied on the email

Once you have everyone in the lines as indicated above, you are ready to send.  The email will be sent to you as well as the contact you have put in the BCC line and will look like it was sent from you to each one individually.
