To configure and use Outlook on your home computer without the need for VPN follow the instructions below:

1.  In Outlook, go to File -> Info -> Account settings:

2.  Click on your mailbox and then select “Change”:

3.  On the Microsoft Exchange Server box make sure it says “”.
If that is the case click on “More Settings”

4.  Click on the Connection tab and see if “Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP” is checked. If not please check and click on “Exchange Proxy Settings”.

5.  Here you need to make sure that is says “” and that “Basic Authentication” is selected instead of NTLM Authentication.  Also make sure that you don’t have “Only connect to proxy…” checked.

NOTE: With Outlook 2013 you will need to also check "On fast networks, connect using with HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP"

With these configuration you should be able to use outlook anywhere without VPN. Just make sure your username says “Bridgewater\<your username>” and not just <your username>” so the server can authenticate your credentials against correctly.
