Problem Opening MS Office files?
Posted by Aaron Klein on 03 September 2009 04:06 PM

Bridgewater College uses Office 2010 on all college systems. With this new version of Office Microsoft has implemented a new document format for its popular office applications like Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Those who do not have Office 2007 may still open these new documents by installing the Office Compatibility Pack that can be found here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en It is important to note that Microsoft requests that you install all High-Priority updates from Microsoft Update before downloading the Compatibility Pack.

With the compatibility pack users can also save documents in the new format as well. While it is recommended that students purchase Office 2007 from our software reseller it is not required.
