Finding your Device's MAC Address

BCWiFi is an unencrypted wireless network designed for devices that are not able to connect to the protected BCSecureWiFi network.  Before configuring your device to connect to BCWiFi please search through the settings and find the wireless MAC address of the device.  On some devices it may be referred to as a WiFi address.  A MAC address is a hexadecimal number that uniquely identifies the wireless chip in your device.  Different vendors display the information in slightly different formats below are some common formats:

  • Colon separated - 01:23:45:67:89:ab
  • Dot separated - 0123.4567.89ab
  • Hyphen separated - 01-23-45-67-89-ab
  • No delimiter - 0123456789ab

Please be aware that since this is a hexadecimal number the only valid characters are the digits 0 through 9 and letters a through f.
