How often should I run Identity Finder scans?
Posted by Joseph Meslovich on 09 September 2014 09:21 AM

Our recommendation for faculty and staff is to run an Identity Finder scan every quarter to best keep track of where private data is being stored and to then take action to eliminate files containing private data that are no longer needed.

The IT Center will also periodically initiate automated scans to audit compliance with the campus data security policy.  Also if there are instances where the IT Center believes an individuals account has been compromised their office computer will be scanned to determine what data may have been at risk while the account was out of the employees control.
