Configure Bridgewater Outlook Signature

For consistency in representing the BC brand, all Bridgewater College employees must use the same format and College logo in email signatures. To set up your email signature, please follow the instructions below. If you have any questions or difficulty in setting up your signature, please contact Stephen Hockman shockman@bridgewater.edu.

 

 

 

Outlook Instructions (for desktop or laptop)

 

1. Open Microsoft Outlook on your computer.

2. Using your mouse, highlight the full signature block and College logo below.

3. Right click on this selection and choose “Copy” or use the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + C” to copy this signature block to your clipboard.

4. In Outlook, go to the “File” tab and on the left side choose “Options.”

5. In the pop up Options window, choose “Mail” on the left sidebar.

6. On the next screen, choose “Signatures” on the right pane.

7. In the pop up Signature window, click on the “New” button in the top left section.

8. Another pop up will appear asking you to name this signature. For example, “Work.” Then click “Ok.”

9. The big white box on the bottom of the window is where you will paste the previously copied signature. Click once inside this box to select it. Then right-click with your mouse and choose “Paste Options – Keep Formatting (the left icon)” or use the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + V” to paste the signature into the box.

Note: If the signature block is not center aligned, highlight the complete block and choose the center alignment paragraph button directly above the signature box.

10. Replace the necessary template text with your information. For example, change “Name” to your name, “Office” to your office, etc.

11. On the top right part of this pop up window is a section to choose your default signature. Under “New Message” change the dropdown box to the name you saved this signature as in step 7. Also, change the “Replies/Forwards” dropdown box to the same signature name.

12. Click “Ok” at the bottom of the pop up window to save your signature.

 

 

 

Outlook WebApp Instructions (for webmail)

 

1. Log into Outlook WebApp at http://exchange.bridgewater.edu/owa

2. Using your mouse, highlight the full signature block below.

3. Right click on this selection and choose “Copy” or use the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + C” to copy this signature block to your clipboard.

4. In Outlook Web App, go to the “Settings” gear on the top right of the screen and choose “Options.”

5. On the left side bar choose “Settings.”

6. The mail settings with your email signature will appear. Click once inside the email signature box in the middle of the page to select it. Then right-click with your mouse and choose “Paste” or use the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + V” to paste the signature into the box.

Note: If the signature block is not center aligned, highlight the complete block and choose the center alignment paragraph button directly above the signature box.

 

7. Under the signature box is a “Message Format” area. Make sure the “Compose messages in this format” is set to “HTML.”

8. On the bottom right of the page choose “Save” to save your signature.
