Posted by Kristy Rhea on 31 March 2009 02:35 PM

Internet Explorer 8 has a built in search feature allowing you to set your favorite search engine as the default.

To change your search settings please read the following:

  • Open Internet Explorer 8.
  • Find the search box in the top right corner and select the down arrow.
  • Choose the option for “Find More Providers…”
  • On the following page click to choose the option you would like under “Web Search.”
  • Once you have chosen a search provider you will get a pop-up confirming your selection.  Check the box “Make this my default search provider.”
  • Click “Add Provider.”

Note:  If you do not see your favorite search engine you can add it to the list.  Follow the same instructions above, except choose the option “Create Your Own” in the yellow shaded box.  Follow the steps on the screen to install.

Note:  This type of customization will need reset anytime your profile is reset.
