Pinning Recent Documents

The following only applies to Access 2010, Excel 2010, PowerPoint 2010, and Word 2010.
Are there documents that you can never remember where they are saved?  You can “pin” these to your recent documents menu to save time navigating to the file.  Follow the instructions below to learn how.

  • Open Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access.
  • To keep or pin a file in the Recent Documents list, click the Microsoft Office Button in the top left corner.
  • Then click Pin this document to the Recent Documents list.  When a document is pinned to the Recent Documents list, the pin button looks like a push pin viewed from the top.
    Note:  If your profile would be reset for any reason these customizations would also need reset.
