After logging in you will see your email as usual. On the right select the Options drop down menu and then select "See All Options..."
On the right of the screen select "Phone" from the menu and continue with the directions below.
This will open your browser to the Outlook Web App login prompt. After logging in you should be taken directly to the phone section. Directly below the Call Answering Rules will be the Reset PIN section. Click on the link that reads "Reset my voice mail PIN..."
In your mailbox there should be an email from "Microsoft Outlook" with your new PIN number. Dial the voicemail access number as listed in the email. It should be 3750. If you’re calling from off campus use the following number to access the Outlook voicemail, 540-515-3750.
You will need to provide your extension to voicemail when it answers. If you do not know your extension it will be on the email from Microsoft Outlook as well. After entering your extension it will prompt you to enter your PIN. Use the PIN that is in the email and hit # as directed. Once you do this you will be notified that your PIN has expired and it will prompt you to enter a new PIN.
The only time that you will use the PIN number is when you are calling into voicemail. You do not need to use the PIN at any other time. Select a PIN that you will not forget. Do not forget to enter # after entering your PIN. After confirming your PIN voicemail will take you to the normal voicemail menus. The following article provides information on how to navigate the Outlook Voice Access menus.
