Sending e-mail to advisees
Posted by David Parsley on 15 November 2010 02:30 PM

Sending your message to a group of advisees:

1. To line should read: advisees@bridgewater.edu
2. Subject should read: "(<group>) ..." If you wish to add something to the subject line, do so after the closed parentheses. For group, use the major type; currently one of:

  • major: First major
  • majr2: Second major
  • minor: Minor
  • saasp: Student Athlete advisees
  • all: all advisees.

example:
To: advisees@bridgewater.edu
Subject: (minor) Gen-ed requirements

* NOTE: When the e-mail is sent, the (major) part will be removed from the subject, unlike 'courses'.

Sending to multiple advisee groups at once:

1. To line should read: advisees@bridgewater.edu
2. Subject should read: "(<group1>,<group2>...) ..." a comma after each entry, and all in the same parentheses. If you wish to add something to the subject line, do so after the closed parentheses.

example:
To: advisees@bridgewater.edu
Subject: (major,majr2) Planning for spring classes

This example will send an email to all your major and majr2 advisees.
